My robot started off with a sheet of Acrylic that was put on to a CNC router with a program that I wrote to cut out the shape I wanted. My design was simple, quick and effective for this purpose. Then I bought the pickaxe, gearbox and the wheels from Tim the teacher. The ultra sonic seniors were bought from Micro zed, the reason for using the ultra Sonics was they are easier to tune and program and they can be used for a few different purposes.eg car reverse sensing.A few items were purchased from Jaycar penrith, they were the wires ,clips, screws, female connectors, battery packs and batteries.Ihad went to many different hobbie shops and golo shops looking for a castor and in the end my teacher james had came accross some small castor at a shop in bankstown and thats where i had bought the castor that i used from. Also the motor IC controller was purchased from James.Once it was all together after using and following james wiring diagrams the programing began and itwas easy to write the program but very hard to do the fine adjustments as while u test the robot the battery life decreases every time so it is very hard to get it right. The left wall program took me a while to get good with touching a wall, it was all timing issues and giving extra time to go round corners. The right wall program on the other hand was reasonably hard cause you could not just swap the sensors  over and hope that it would work , they were totally different with the timming , I had found that left turn on the right wall almost impossible to get right but I knuckled down and got it to work perfect. After all that on the Monday 23 of November 2009 we raced the robots through a mazed that was designed by the teachers, my robot ran 1.36 min on the left wall with no penalties and 2.33min on the right wall with no penalties, not many robots ran through the maze without hitting a wall and gaining a penalty to add extra time to their run. They had category winners for first through the maze and best design; my robot came 5th in the best design which was pretty good for a simple designed robot.
